The Health Center Association of Nebraska (HCAN) is actively recruiting a Behavioral Health Specialist to join our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Grand Island, Nebraska, where you will provide high-quality, patient-centered behavioral health care for all. Utilizing an integrated care approach, our providers work collaboratively to address all aspects of patients’ health and believe that exceptional, compassionate care should be accessible and affordable for all. Medical, dental, behavioral health, and outreach services are coordinated to ensure well-rounded, comprehensive care.

Your Role :
Provide supportive 15 – 30-minute behavioral health services to primary care providers (PCPs) and their patients (warm hand-offs), partnering with the PCP in improving the overall of health the patientProvide 30 - 60-minute behavioral health services to patients that can include complete history, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and / or referral within or outside the health centerConduct and facilitate support and treatment groups with patients of any ageRefer those cases that require support (e.g., social work, WIC) or specialist services (e.g., psychiatry, inpatient treatment), but maintain responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is providedEnsure all documentation meets ethical and legal standards for every encounter with a patientUse the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for patient records, visit notes, billing etc. so that consistent data management can be maintainedParticipate in health promotion and disease prevention activitiesWhat We Are Looking For :
Master’s Degree from an accredited training program; MA or MS in a clinical mental health programLicense or license-eligible to practice in the State of Nebraska, LIMHP preferred but LMHP or PLMHP are acceptableComfort and experience working with patients across the life cycleKnowledge of public health principles and practicesDemonstrated professional commitment to providing services to medically under-served individuals in a public health settingAbility to foster strong patient-provider relationshipsBilingual English – Spanish highly preferredLocation Perks :
