Job Summary :
Production Technicians (Packers) are responsible for packing finished goods into cases, recording paperwork, changeovers and code checks. Responsibilities include keeping up with the pace of production, packing quality products, labeling boxes, and placing boxes on a conveyor as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Duties / Responsibilities :
Removes packaged product from conveyor line and places packaged product into casing neatly and correctly.Monitors packaged product for quality standardsVerifies that the date packaged is correctStraightens product progressing along a conveyor lineOperates palletizing equipmentConduct required periodic packaging integrity testing and weight checks, and metal detection using established validation methodsEnsure that the correct packaging materials are being used for the product being produced. Track and document machine / equipment down-timeMaintains counts of finished productAssemble flat cardboard into box shape for shipping productsTape boxes and manually transfer product to stacking areaUnderstanding / Performing different packaging configurationsMaintain ingredients and material in a First in First Out basis (FIFO)Ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong time management skills with the ability to work without extensive supervisionOperate filler machine as neededAssist with batching productionsMust follow and understand all employee safety guidelines, food safety and quality procedures and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)CIP, COP, and SIP before and after productionAssist in allergen monitoring programsSanitation / HousekeepingQA monitoring and recording assistanceTroubleshootingBatching & Processing assistanceUphold SQF requirements including promotion of a strong & positive food safety cultureActive involvement in implementation, upkeep and continuous improvement of food safety as part of an interdisciplinary teamStewardship for our B-corp mission to promote worldwide health and wellness by fostering the delivery of high quality, healthy foods through sustainable methods.Required Skills / Abilities :
Thorough working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety StandardsAttention to detailMust work well in teams and demonstrate behavior conducive to promoting strong teamworkMust possess a positive attitude in a fast-paced production environmentMust be punctual, on site and ready for work at scheduled hoursMust be able to understand direction and information in EnglishEducation and Experience :
High School degree or equivalentForklift and Aerial platform certification within 3 months of hireThe ability to complete better processing control school & Acidified Foods course in first 6 months of hirePhysical Requirements :
Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shiftsPerform repetitive or continue behavior including lifting 20-30 poundsOccasionally lift up to 50 pounds at timesFrequent bending, crouching, or twistingWork in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes to complete work assignmentsAbility to work in fast-paced production environment
