Position Summary
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for administering medications and providing basic resident care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role supports the nursing team by ensuring accurate medication delivery, assisting residents with daily needs, and helping maintain a safe and supportive care environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer prescribed medications in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.
Document medication administration and report any errors or changes in resident condition.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, mobility, and nutrition.
Monitor residents’ health and promptly report observations to nursing staff.
Maintain secure storage and accurate records of medications.
Promote resident dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Certified Medication Aide training program.
Current state certification as a CMA.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with resident mobility.
