Produces total project cost estimates for site to support their allocation of budgets for expenses and capital projects. Determines labor hours and dollars for engineering and construction, and materials cost to enable construction projects and client expenditure planning.
Conducts value estimating, via a thorough estimating process for all segments of an estimate, to provide the customer with project alternatives to enable them to make critical cost decisions for specific processes within a project.
Estimates small projects (under $150K) "leanly” to ensure such projects are done effectively without the scale / construction infrastructure required to execute larger projects
Prepares engineering forecast / conceptual estimates based on only minimal information and basic project assumptions to give the client a general idea of potential projects costs, and allow the customer and engineering to determine whether to proceed with further project detail / estimating.
Develops manhour productivity rates with minimal information about specific work tasks, through a "crew up process” or by researching past project cost history; to enhance the validity of the estimate
Works with a team of estimators and cost engineers to improve current estimating databases, and to develop / enhance tools that will create a dependable estimate
Constantly revisits work processes, problem areas and bottlenecks to evaluate, recommend and implement efficiencies for the estimating and engineering groups, to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
Develops and prepares other project reports and databases as directed by the Project Controls Manager
Ensure working documents and are maintained per Entergy guidelines
Interface with all disciplines (engineering, construction, procurement, etc)
