American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact license and strong heparin and insulin skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Med / Surg Tele unit within a hospital settingNight shifts (3x12 hours, 18 : 45-07 : 15) totaling 36 hours per weekPatient population includes medical and surgical casesTypical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 6-7Heparin drips are administered on the unitUse of Pyxis, Epic for charting, and SBAR for communicationFloating to similar units or affiliate hospitals is required, often at least once per weekMust work every other weekend and cover major holidays as scheduledAssignments range from 13 to 26 weeksNavy scrubs requiredUnit orientation consists of 24 hoursMust be willing to work as part of the Storm Team or Hurricane Team during major eventsMay be consolidated or reassigned to different units as needed during contractNo RTO allowed after booking; up to 7 days RTO may be approved if not on holidaysRequired to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract periodMust not have worked in a permanent, PRN, or EP capacity for this health system within the past 12 monthsTravel pairs are allowed but must work on different unitsCandidates within 50 miles are offered at a local rateCompletion of required modules and compliance tasks prior to start is mandatoryFatigue policy prohibits travelers from working more than 5 consecutive days or more than 60 hours per week\n \n Requirements\n
