Axios Professional Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Genetic Counselor. This position is classified as Exempt and reports directly to the Genetic Counselor Supervisor. This role will provide critical leadership and technical expertise within our laboratory services division and is located at our headquarters, with some flexibility.
As the Genetic Counselor, you will play a key role in supporting all pre- and post-test activities. You’ll act as a clinical and operational liaison between internal departments and support with the interpretation, reporting, and coordination of genetic testing services. You’ll also support the GC Supervisor with strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives in patient care, reporting workflows, and scientific communication.

Genetic Counselor Responsibilities :
Cross-Functional Liaison : Serve as the point of contact between genetic counselors and departments such as sales, marketing, and operations.Process Development : Assist in developing and implementing new lab protocols and procedures to uphold high patient care standards.Operational Oversight : Oversee area-specific processes, troubleshoot issues, and lead process improvements for timely, accurate results.Project Management : Manage cross-functional relationships and support teams as subject matter expert.Result Communication : Support the team’s communication of abnormal results to clients and patients.Internal Expertise : Act as a clinical resource across departments including marketing, sales, and product development.Tech Collaboration : Partner with bioinformatics and lab staff to improve data systems supporting result interpretation.Professional Compliance : Maintain required CEUs per American Board of Genetic Counseling standards.Genetic Counselor Qualifications :
Master’s in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling from an ABGC-accredited programBoard Certified by the ABGC or ABMG Preferred3+ years of clinical genetic counseling experienceStrong communication skills; able to simplify complex scientific informationSelf-driven, accountable, and collaborative work ethicKnowledge of HIPAA / PHI complianceComfortable with cross-functional team leadership and clinical project oversightWork Requirements :
Workstation-based with occasional walking and reachingOccasional lifting up to 30 poundsStandard office machine use and computer workReading, writing, and communicating clearlyMinimal travel, mostly local if needed
