Job description

Inventory Control Clerk

Shifts Open :

Monday-Thursday 5AM-3 : 30PM ($18 / HR)

Tuesday-Friday 5AM-3 : 30PM ($18 / HR)

Job Purpose : The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor / Manager in any inventory related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and / or locations on a daily basis.
  • Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Use of motorized equipment including : Order Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-Up Reach Truck
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor / manager.

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
  • Qualifications :

  • Minimum 1-3 months related experience and / or training in Inventory Control.
  • Minimum 1-3 months related experience and / or training in warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker / high lift.
  • Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
  • Education and / or Experience Required :

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and write emails.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
  • Forklift certification a plus.
