Licensure & Experience

License : Active Illinois RN license required at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)

Experience : Minimum 1 year of Telemetry RN experience

Certifications Required : BLS

Preferred :

ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale

Clinical Skill Requirements : -

Telemetry & Cardiac Monitoring :

Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

On-unit and remote telemetry monitoring

Use of Rapid Response Teams

Post-MI and post-cardiac angiogram care

Pre / Post cardiac cath care, TR band management

IV Therapy & Medication Administration :

Central, peripheral, and PICC line management

Starting IVs

Blood product administration

Heparin protocols

Cardiac drip management (with and without titration)

IV insulin protocols

Respiratory Support :

Non-invasive airway management

External CPAP / BiPAP

High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)

Oxygen delivery devices (face mask, nasal cannula, portable tank)

Chest tube care (Emerson / Pleur-evac)

Other Requirements :

Isolation precautions

Wound care and wound vac usage
