Position Summary
The Workforce Management Leader is responsible for ensuring the operational performance, continuity, and engagement of our consulting workforce. This role oversees performance management cycles, goal-setting, consultant readiness, and time-off coordination while promoting a high-performance culture rooted in professionalism, accountability, and consultant enablement.
Acting as a central partner to Client Services, Delivery Leadership, HR, Recruiting, and Business Operations, this role ensures that consultant capabilities align with client needs and organizational objectives. The Workforce Management Leader monitors performance signals, supports development planning, ensures compliance with workforce policies, and provides proactive coaching to address risks or underperformance. Through actionable workforce insights and consistent workforce coordination practices, this role enables consultants to do their best work and elevates client delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Management & Development
- Lead and facilitate the consultant performance review lifecycle, partnering with Client Services, Delivery Leads, and PMO to gather insights and assess performance trends.
- Drive and coordinate the annual goal-setting process for the Consulting Services workforce.
- Support consultant growth and career development planning through structured feedback and capability insights.
Workforce Operations & Continuity
Monitor consultant availability, planned / unplanned time off, and leave requests to ensure continuity in client delivery.Maintain accurate workforce records across HRIS, time-tracking, and capacity planning tools.Provide insights on staffing availability and workforce readiness to support forecasting and delivery planning.Culture, Accountability & Issue Resolution
Reinforce standards of professionalism, conduct, communication, and accountability through proactive engagement and performance coaching.Surface and document early indicators of performance challenges or engagement risks in partnership with Delivery Leads and Project Managers.Manage documentation and responses related to performance issues or policy non-compliance, in collaboration with HR and Delivery Leadership.Cross-Functional Enablement & Reporting
Partner with Client Services, Business Operations, and HR to ensure accurate reporting of time tracking, leave impact, and performance-related analytics that inform revenue and margin decisions.Provide ongoing workforce insights to support operations planning, staffing models, consultant training priorities, and retention strategies.Qualifications
Required
7+ years of experience in workforce planning, HR operations, or performance management, ideally within consulting or professional services.Deep knowledge of performance review frameworks, coaching approaches, and cultural enablement strategies.Proven experience facilitating organization-wide performance or goal-setting processes.Strong documentation, organization, and analytical skills with attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive personnel matters with discretion and professionalism.Strong relationship-building and cross-functional partnership skills.Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and build trust.Familiarity with HRIS, workforce management systems, and time-tracking platforms.Preferred
Background in employee relations, coaching, or organizational development.Experience supporting state, local, and education (SLED) or public-sector consulting accounts.Prior experience working with distributed consulting teams.Core Services Delivered
