Position Overview
The Install & Pre-Wire Site Foreman is responsible for leading and overseeing all pre-wire, NID splicing, and final installation phases of fiber optic and telecom infrastructure projects. This role is essential for ensuring that field operations meet Luck Grove’s standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in pre-wire and installation processes, capable of managing multiple crews while maintaining clear communication with office staff, engineers, and customers. Success in this role depends on attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to deliver consistent results across multiple concurrent projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Lead and manage the lifecycle of install and pre-wire project components.
- Define and oversee project scope, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies to ensure deadlines are met.
Leadership, Communication & Administration
Provide daily field updates and weekly progress reports to leadership.Maintain all administrative records including contracts, permits, change orders, and site logs.Work closely with office management to ensure complete and accurate documentation.Field Oversight & Team Management
Supervise field crews and subcontractors to ensure quality, productivity, and compliance.Conduct regular site walkthroughs to confirm adherence to plans, codes, and standards.Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork across all site operations.Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Enforce Luck Grove’s safety protocols through briefings, toolbox talks, and audits.Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and local / state regulations.Lead investigations into safety incidents and implement corrective actions promptly.Inventory & Resource Control
Maintain accurate inventory of tools, materials, and equipment.Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient logistics, delivery coordination, and safe storage.Verify invoices and data accuracy within company systems in partnership with office management.Forecast labor and material requirements for upcoming project phases.Stakeholder & Client Coordination
Serve as the liaison between clients, engineers, office management, and vendors.Participate in meetings with municipalities or utilities when necessary.Communicate field progress and client-impacting updates clearly and professionally.Quality Assurance & Technical Standards
Ensure all pre-wire and install work meets Luck Grove’s technical and quality standards.Address deficiencies through punch lists, rework management, and final inspections.Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve constructability and field performance.Process Innovation & Team Development
Recommend new tools, construction techniques, and workflows to enhance productivity.Mentor junior foremen and technicians to promote professional growth and skill development.Participate in lessons-learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.Community & Environmental Stewardship
Maintain positive relationships with local communities during installation activities.Minimize disruption and uphold professionalism when engaging with residents or businesses.Promote environmentally responsible construction practices.Performance Goals
Oversee and manage all pre-wire and installation-related construction activities.Ensure contractors and subcontractors meet or exceed project deadlines and specifications.Verify project deliverables and documentation accuracy through internal software systems.Proactively identify and communicate potential risks or safety issues to management.Maintain warehouse and job site organization, safety, and cleanliness at all times.Manage schedules to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to standard.Qualifications
Required
Minimum 5 years of experience in OSP, telecom, or pre-wire construction management.Strong understanding of construction safety standards and best practices.Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Proficiency with project management and field documentation software.Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).PMP or equivalent project management certification.Experience with fiber installation, splicing, or testing.Familiarity with California permitting and local utility coordination.Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management systems.Compensation & Benefits
