Superintendent
The Superintendent is responsible for the overall management, operation and maintenance of the Sports Complex and oversees facility scheduling, staffing, budgeting and maintenance to ensure safe, high quality opportunities for the community and to maximize facility use.

- Plans, supervises and monitors the work of park personnel; plans, schedules and assigns work; instructs and trains employees in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion; makes recommendations regarding employee job performance and conducts performance evaluations; ensures the smooth operation of sports complex maintenance.
- Hires and trains facility team members and educates on proper event and safety procedures
- Oversees the front-line managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with City of Laredo policies and additional applicable laws.
- Oversees the administration and high-level of detail required in the organization.
- Serves as the primary contact for all events after they have been contracted.
- Serves Manager on Duty (MOD)
- Ensures staff is prepared for events.
- Contributes to facility business plan and execution
- Manages operations and food and beverage department.
- Oversees and makes sure all certifications are updated and renewed on time.
- Develops and coordinates in-house events and co-partnerships.
- Assists with sponsorship sales as needed.
- Negotiates and produces contracts for relevant vendors building a good working relationship.
- Serves as liaison and maintains communication with other departments within the events team including marketing and sales
- Manages health & safety, quality control, expense management, security, procedures, and facility maintenance.
- Oversees proper cash handling procedures.
- Prioritizes and assigns work daily and ensures the employees have necessary supplies and equipment in order to perform the work.
- Maintenance inventory of supplies and equipment; orders items and signs requisitions; purchase items at a fair in and reasonable price for the value.
- Prepares and maintains accurate personnel records such as sick and annual leave; prepares employee payroll records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Receives and responds to phone calls from the public; answers questions and provides accurate and complete information; projects a positive and professional image of the sports complex system.
- Conducts, attends and participates in staff meetings regularly; maintains awareness and knowledge of concerns, topics and issues relevant to sports complex administration.
- Supervises, monitors and inspects the work sites of crew leaders and equipment operators; determines priorities and the next day's assignments.
- Prepares and maintains accurate reports and records in a timely manner.
- Ensures employees work is in compliance with departmental policies and procedures and local, state and federal rules and regulations governing the same.
- Monitors the operations of the community program on weekends.
- Serves on-call 24-hours a day to respond to emergencies and to resolve operational problems.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accreditedcollege or university in Parks & Recreation Administration, Sports Management, or a related field.At least three (3) years of progressively responsible experience performing park maintenance work.Council of Higher Education Accreditation (C.H.E.A)Required Licenses or Certifications :
Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.Continued employment is contingent on successfully obtaining required certification(s) and / or license(s) within the specified period of time indicated above from time of hire
Valid First Aid and CPR Certifications must be obtained within 12 months of employmentAs part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
Effective February 24, 1997, all selected applicants are required to undergo a drug and alcohol test prior to employment.
