Job Summary We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team at Valley Iron.
In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for employees on a bi-weekly basis and off-cycle payrolls, maintaining files for employees and keeping up to date with payroll and employment law.
Your contributions will be vital in maintaining employee satisfaction and supporting the overall success of our operations.
Essential Functions
- Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, payroll, and attendance records
- Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date and comply with changes in labor legislation, payroll law and employment law.
- Process payroll for employees in the organization (bi-weekly and off-cycle) making sure employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Review time sheets, schedules, wage computation and other information to detect and reconcile any payroll discrepancies.
- Maintain time and attendance, including but not limited to timecards, schedules, time off requests, and attendance points.
- Collect, review, and process any involuntary deductions from pay such as garnishments or levies.
- Prepare reports to relevant departments about payroll, company budget, expense, and end of month.
- Address and resolve employee complaints relating to the payroll system.
- Complete Verification of Employment
- Complete EDD Audits
- Payroll Reporting
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data in HRIS system.
- Process Terminations
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 1.Education Preferred :
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting / business. 2.Experience Preferred :
5 years in payroll. 3.Skills Required :
i.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ii.Professional and courteous with a positive attitude iii.High attention to detail iv.Proficient in Microsoft Office v.Can work with minimal guidance and oversight. vi.Expertise in customer service vii.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations viii.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills ix.Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.Powered by JazzHR
