Position Summary :
Under the leadership of the departmental Director and / or Manager, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) is an active member of the interdisciplinary team providing high-quality patient care. The COTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA must be able to collaborate with other professional disciplines as well as interact with the patient, family members, and significant others.
Basic Qualifications :
Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Experience :Up to one year of work-related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a hospital and / or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
Licensure, Registrations & Certifications :Requires a current state license as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.
Requires a current certification in Basic Life Support.
Essential Job Responsibilities :
Supports Occupational Therapists by implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and assisting with activities to improve daily living skills, under the supervision of an OT in the acute care and / or skilled nursing facility setting. May provide treatments in additional settings including at the discretion of the department Director.Communicates with manager and other health care interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress, problems or plans.Records daily treatment notes and other required documentation timely and completely.Records treatment charges daily and completes charge tickets in accurate and timely manner.Meeting production requirements for occupational therapy rendered as defined by the organization.Complies with the Georgia State Occupational Therapy Practice Act.Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS's efforts to provide quality care and services. Performs all associated duties, responsibilities, and tasks.Presents a professional image to CRHS's co-workers, clinical and medical staff members, patients, families, and visitors.Attends professional development programs and in-service training and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.Equal Opportunity Employer
