Job Title :   Education Specialist, YMCA Middle School Academy

Description :  The Education Specialist provides support for the Middle School Academy. Coordinates student academics and tutoring schedules in conjunction with Site Director. Acts as liaison between classroom teachers and YMCA. Provides a quality experience to children and parents to support the objectives of the program.

Essential Functions :

• Coordinates and schedules student pre- and post-assessment testing
• Coordinates student tutoring schedules in conjunction with Site Director; acts as liaison between classroom teachers and Middle School Academy.
• Monitors student grades
• Assists Site Director in planning academic activities / functions
• Aids Site Director in collecting program / student data and documentation
• Attends all meetings / trainings relative to Middle School Academies, models, and supports Site Director
• Provides Site Director with grade level curriculum guides; assists with alignment of enrichment activities' calendar communicates with Site Director
• Communicates and updates Site Director Displays students' work / projects
• Promotes Middle School Academy to parents, students, staff, and school community
• Follows all programming and scheduling requirements
• Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth
• Attends required abuse risk management training
• Adheres to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth
• Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
• Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements

Requirements :

Pay & Perks : Part-time schedule, approximately 10-15 hours / week. Must be available Monday-Friday. Pay rate : $30.00 / hour; free YMCA membership for employee and discount for family.

Work Location : Various schools across St Petersburg / Pinellas County.
