Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The Water Warehouse group supports numerous functions across Aurora Water. This includes but is not limited to, raw water conveyance, water treatment functions, stormwater infrastructure improvements, and Wastewater functions. Within these functions, the Water Warehouse Technician is responsible for parts procurement and delivery.
Prepares and processes requests for materials and suppliesMaintains computer inventory of parts and suppliesOrders materials and partsMonitors daily purchasing activities and expendituresMaintains recordsPerforms costing related to work orders containing parts and materialsFrequently drives and operates city vehicles and equipmentLocates and acquires equipment and suppliesPerforms physical inventory, quarterly inventory, and monthly cycle countsResearches out of count conditionsCoordinates the acquisition and delivery / pick-up of parts to job sitesUnloads delivered materials and checks the accuracy of ordersMaintains clean stock areas both inside and outsidePerforms additional duties as requiredSpecial Order research and acquisitionMinimum Qualifications & Working Conditions
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education : High School Diploma or GED.Experience : At least two (2) years progressively responsible experience in material and equipment procurement and maintenance with some experience utilizing a computer-based inventory and project tracking database systemExperience in a water utility environment is preferredAn equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of utility materials and equipment; and purchasing and contract proceduresExperience with inventory software is preferredKnowledge
