Description\n\nSummary : \n\nWe are looking for a skilled and dedicated Emergency Care Registered Nurse to join our team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate independence in practice and have a strong grasp of all relevant aspects of emergency care. You will provide both routine and complex care, while also working towards long-term goals. This position requires the ability to manage unforeseen clinical situations effectively, including making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers.\n\nResponsibilities : \n

- Deliver nursing care in alignment with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, employing the nursing process : assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.\n
- Address the increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, based on your level of practice.\n
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor patients for side effects and the effectiveness of treatments.\n
- Thoroughly document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.\n
- Assess educational needs and provide guidance to patients, families, and caregivers; identify issues and available resources.\n\nJob Requirements : \n\nEducation / Skills\n
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.\n\nExperience\n
- 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n
- BLS certification required.\n
- RN License in state of employment or compact state.\n\nPosition Requirements : \n\nEducation / Skills\n
- Newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.\n
- New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member, with initial onboarding validated through competency assessments.\n
- Newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or additional orientation. Skills competency will be completed at the bedside with a preceptor and documented.\n
- All annual competency verification requirements must be fulfilled.\n\nExperience\n
- One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.\n\nLicenses, Registrations, or Certifications\n
- Current ACLS certification required.\n
- Current PALS certification required.\n\nIn accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification, and Registration Verification Policy, all associates must obtain required certifications for their respective positions within the designated timeframe.\n\nCredential Grace Periods : \n\nIf additional credentials are required, a grace period to obtain them will apply based on your experience level.\n
- Associates with at least one year of acute care experience in a similar service line within the past three years are considered Experienced Associates.\n
