Hello! Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as a Part Time  Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at our Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring. Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring is a partnership between Covenant HealthCare and Wellspring to help patients transition from the hospital to home. The new facility is part of a $5 million investment by Covenant and Wellspring to provide the most advanced post-acute care and services in the Great Lakes Bay Region. The Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring also provides physical, occupational and speech therapies performed by Mary Free Bed therapists in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility, working closely with the nursing department to assure the highest quality in post-acute programming.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Saginaw. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in  Saginaw County to provide services to seniors. In this position, you must be currently licensed by the State of Michigan Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse and successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program. Two years of nursing experience with current home health, medical, surgical, or critical care experience preferred.

As a  Licensed   Practical Nurse (LPN) you will :

• Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality
• Keep Nursing Directors up to date on resident’s status and other related material
• Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors
• Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials
• Respond to inquiries relating to his / her particular area or to requests from residents, visitors, other personnel, etc. within given time frames and within established policy
• Responsible for the supervision of all nursing activities on the unit
• Responsible for the interpretation and adherence of the policies and procedures for the personnel, patients, medical staff and public
• Make daily resident visits to observe and evaluate the resident’s physical and emotional status
