NORTON CHILDRENS is recruiting board-certified / board-eligible general pediatricians to join existing
general pediatrician-subspecialist partnerships, or to create innovative new care models, in the following
specialty areas :
Norton Childrens believes every family experiencing an unexpected medical challenge should be able to rapidly access the specialized care they need. However, critical shortages of pediatric subspecialists nationwide are adversely affecting access for families across the country. To address these growing access challenges, Norton Childrens has developed an innovative, team-based approach that permits pediatric subspecialists, general pediatricians with special training, advanced practice providers and other health care professionals to create partnerships that ensure families receive the care they need, when they need it. We have already implemented this model successfully in pediatric dermatology, emergency medicine, genetics and neonatology, and now are looking for general pediatricians who are ready to create innovative partnerships with pediatric subspecialty areas that are experiencing national access challenges.
General pediatrician positions on subspecialty teams are designed to incorporate a thoughtful training plan. The first six months of employment include a combination of training opportunities with subspecialist-trained mentors, including observation, didactic teaching and real-time consultation. Following the training period, general pediatricians see patients independently within an agreed-on scope of practice, with continued access to case consultation and retrospective case review with subspecialist-trained colleagues.
