Job description

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years total leadership experience, including 1–2 years managing supervisors (flex on industry relevancy in transportation, warehouse, industrial, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Proven ability to lead large teams - must have directly overseen at least 10 staff members
  • Strong leadership presence with a willingness to hold teams accountable, have tough conversations, and navigate conflict constructively.
  • Highly organized and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Demonstrated ability to drive KPIs, lead process improvements, and follow through on performance metrics.
  • High level of ownership - must take full responsibility for team outcomes
  • Comfortable with daily coaching conversations, especially with frontline staff and drivers
  • Must show initiative, a desire to learn, eagerness to advance professionally.

    We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Transportation Manager to lead all aspects of transportation operations within a Fulfillment Center (FC). This role is responsible for overseeing a large and complex delivery network that includes nearly 400 home delivery drivers, a group of 20+ CDL drivers, and third-party logistics partners. The Transportation Manager will directly manage a team of 10+ supervisors and 4 dispatchers across multiple departments, ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and a high level of customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include managing the transportation P&L, optimizing routing and service levels, overseeing fleet maintenance and yard operations, and driving performance through key metrics and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires daily engagement with drivers and frontline staff, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and open communication. The manager will also collaborate with internal teams such as the centralized call center and network strategy group to enhance the delivery experience and reduce operational bottlenecks. This is a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment where the ability to multitask, stay organized, and lead through change is essential. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who takes full ownership of team results, drives improvement, and is comfortable navigating conflict and coaching conversations to build a strong, high-performing culture.
