As the Product Design Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across our digital ecosystem—from customer-facing platforms to developer tools. This is a high-impact, hybrid role that blends hands-on design with strategic people leadership. You’ll guide the design process from discovery to delivery, manage a team of designers, and champion a user-centered approach that drives real-world outcomes.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in product design, UX, or interaction design roles for B2B software or SaaS companies
- 2 years of experience in or having demonstrated the ability to managing teams or direct reports
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work, including discovery, prototyping, and high-fidelity UI
- Experience establishing or contributing to design systems and component libraries
- Figma power user with full command of its features, including components, variants, auto layout, interactive prototypes, design tokens, team libraries, and versioning
- Comfortable owning projects from problem definition through delivery in collaboration with product and engineering teams
- Clear understanding of user-centered design principles and UX best practices
- Experience conducting or collaborating on user research and usability testing
- Ability to create journey maps, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI for both web and mobile
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outcome-driven environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to advocate for design decisions across disciplines
- Comfortable mentoring junior designers and giving constructive feedback
- Technology enthusiast demonstrated through work experience, hobbies and / or education
- Agile Mindset – The ability to work in an iterative manner that allows for rapid prototyping, effective feedback loops, and the ability to meet aggressive timelines
CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION / CRITICAL ELEMENTS
Strategic Planning (15%)
Continuous improvement, contributing innovative ideas and proactive solutions with a broad strategic view.Establish UI / UX foundational standards, processes and design system while ensuring adherence.Update and maintain UX / Product Design roadmap and backlog.Advocate for design quality, accessibility, and usability across everything we ship.Collaborate with marketing and other departments to create a unified experience.Execution (55%)
Champion user-centered design practices and help standardize our design process across teams.Design elegant, intuitive and consistent product experiences from concept to final UI across web and mobile.Own and evolve our design system in Figma, including components, variants, tokens, and team libraries.Partner closely with product, engineering, and stakeholders to define and solve user problems.Drive continuous discovery efforts through user research, journey mapping, and rapid prototyping.Create and maintain documentation that supports scalable, repeatable design work.Contribute to shaping the end-to-end customer experience, including developer and partner-facing tools.Collaborate cross-functionally to validate ideas, gather feedback, and ensure a high-quality product experience.Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure high-quality output within established deadlines and budgets.People and Process Leadership and Personal Development (30%)
Talent Management : Hire, onboard, and manage team staffing needs.Team Operations : Approve timecards and PTO; oversee daily workflows and best practices.Performance & Development : Provide coaching, feedback, and formal reviews; support career growth.Communication : Cascade business updates to ensure team alignment.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Build strong partnerships across departments.Operational Excellence : Optimize processes and address skill gaps to improve outcomes.Governance : Ensure control activities are executed effectively within the team.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions as found in a typical office location or remote office location.In-office expectations (Bolingbrook, IL) are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays based on our current in-office operating model. This model can change at any time and the expectation is that all local team members are able and willing to come into the office on any day of the week, as needed.Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.Ability to board a locomotive.WHY WI-TRONIX?
