Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly's largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the startup team for a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the processes and facility to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.
The Learning Associate Learning & Development (L&D) supports the Associate Director of L&D in the design, implementation and maintenance of training programs at the manufacturing site. This role ensures that site learning systems and practices align with global standards while addressing local operational needs and regulatory requirements. The Learning Associate is accountable for delivering high-quality, compliant, and impactful learning experiences that build workforce capabilities and performance.
Key Objectives / Deliverables
Capability Analysis and Curricula Development
- Identify and analyze capability gaps using performance data and feedback.
- Collaborate with site leaders and Global MQ L&D Center of Excellence and L&D Network to define and standardize where possible, role-based competency requirements.
Program Design and Deployment
Develop and implement effective, site-related training solutions that meet business needs and regulatory standards in partnership with Global MQ L&D Center of Excellence and L&D Network.Localize global learning assets for the site.Integrate adult learning principles and modern instructional design into training programs.Create initial project scope documents, appropriately leveraging learning services suppliers for outsourced work to achieve business objectives.Compliance and Audit Readiness
Ensure accurate training documentation and practices meet internal and external business and regulatory requirements.Conduct periodic reviews of training effectiveness and address any compliance gaps proactively in conjunction with Global MQ L&D Center of Excellence and L&D Network.Create, review, and oversee execution of implementation plan(s), ensuring effective coordination with personnel who create and revise business area / function SOPs and other documents.Instructor and SME EnablementSupport the qualification and development of capabilities through on-the-job training.Monitor the delivery quality to drive learner engagement and outcomes.Influence site team leaders to think about the most efficient and effective way to deliver training interventions that are meaningful, useful, and relevant to their roles.Manage suppliers working on L&D related projects to ensure delivery and performance mirror or exceeds our agreements; ensure that the deliverables meet the needs of our site team members.Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with cross-functional teams and the Global MQ L&D Center of Excellence and L&D Networks to align on learning priorities.Actively participate in Network L&D meetings to remain connected to L&D community.Support change management and communication for new or updated training programs.Monitor and communicate program / portfolio status to key business partners.Anticipate and resolve project / program issues, escalating as appropriate.Data and Metrics
Track and report training metrics to demonstrate impact and identify opportunities for improvement.Leverage data to support continuous improvement of training and site performance.Digital Tools and Innovation
Utilize digital tools, simulations and microlearning where applicable to enhance learning impact.Promote innovation in training delivery through technology and modern learning practices.Continuous Improvement
Benchmark practices with other sites and within the industry to bring best-in-class solutions to the site.Monitor site team members' satisfaction of learning programs and use that feedback to improve our programs.Client Management
Participate regularly in area / function project and process teams.Understand site functions deeply, including business goals, job titles and descriptions, key duties, and responsibilities.Consult across the assigned business area / function and the Lilly learning community to ensure training plans align with business plan, strategic direction, and compliance and ethics.Curriculum Architecture and Assignment
Identify target audience for specific learning interventions. Partner with Global Learning Services and / or learning services suppliers for effective and timely implementation of learning interventions, considering change impact on current population of (trained) learners and future / new learners.Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of course and curriculum data owned by assigned business area / function in the Learning Management System (LMS)Troubleshoot curriculum architecture and assignment issues in collaboration with suppliers and Global Learning Services as neededDesign and maintain learning paths, curricula, and job-specific training aligned with GMP and compliance expectationsImplement centrally developed process improvements in local business area / functionBasic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in HR or L&D related field4+ years Training and facilitation experienceExperience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferredMS Office experienceAdditional Skills / Preferences

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $57,750 - $129,800.
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees.
