What your day looks like
You begin on the floor, verifying parts against engineering intent. Using portable CMMs (such as a Hexagon Arm with PC-DMIS), optical comparators, profilometers, and hardness testers, you validate dimensions and finishes. You move from raw materials—extrusions, sheet metal, castings, and purchased components—to in-process, final, and source inspections, always ensuring conformance to specification and regulatory requirements.
Back at your station, you compile AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and complete FAIRs in Net-Inspect (or comparable systems). You review purchase orders and certification packages, build airtight documentation for FAA records, and log any findings through non-conformance reports (NCRs). You partner closely with the Quality Manager to analyze data, drive internal audits, and advance continuous improvement initiatives.
