Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring a NM or compact license and TNCC certification.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Emergency Department of a Level I Trauma and teaching hospitalPatient population includes both adult and pediatric cases with a high admission rate (60%-80%)Typical ratio is 1 : 5 in the EDED includes 'ED Holding' rooms and frequently experiences increased admit holdsNight shifts available (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–7 : 30), with 36 or 48 hour contractsWeekend shifts required as needed, including nights covering Friday, Saturday, and SundayFloating to Adult PCUs may be required; optional floating to Pediatric ED and potential to ED Holding and Trauma based on needCerner is the charting system used and experience is preferredKey duties include medication administration (including IV), clinical documentation, and communication of clinical findingsFirst-time travelers are accepted based on experience criteriaBlock scheduling is not permittedPersonal transportation is requiredScrub color is black and not providedDrug screen required within 30 days of start; compliance and onboarding must be prioritized after offerHoliday coverage required; restrictions on time off greater than 7 days and during first or last 7 days of contractNo RQI certifications acceptedTravelers may work up to 12 consecutive months before needing a break between assignmentsReturn as a traveler permitted if not employed at this facility in the last 12 monthsRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license (may be pending at time of consideration)Minimum 2 years ED experience required; Level I trauma experience preferredTravel experience strongly preferred, but first-time travelers with 2+ years Level I Trauma experience may be consideredCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC (must have prior to consideration), NIH (can be pending until compliance deadline)No locals within a 75-mile radiusCOVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentationMust provide a valid driver's license or a written transportation plan if a non-local driver's license is not availableBenefits
