Job description

Job Summary

Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, runs diagnostic programs, isolates problems, and determines and implements solution.

Job Requirements

This job requires that a certification, approved by the Director of Information Technology, will obtained and maintained every year. Responsibility :

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
  • Prepare training manuals.
  • Prepare training materials and train end users.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems, printers, and any other corporate devices including cell phones and other mobile devices.
  • Respond to email messages from customers seeking help.
  • Ask questions to determine nature of problem, walk customer through problem-solving process, and follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.
  • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Run diagnostic software to resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  • Install computer peripherals for users.
  • Gain feedback from customers about computer usage.
  • Trouble shoot any new and chronic malfunctions.
  • Identify problems and potential solutions before issues cause network and system outages.
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base to ensure repeatable processes and procedures.
  • Understand basic networking and the OSI Model
  • Plan and implement projects
  • Support and maintain a library of knowledge
  • Develop program performance metrics on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain a moderate level of proficiency in software and applications.
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education And / or Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent required and minimum of one year experience in a small-to-large sized IT environment.

Desirable certifications : Network+, Security +, CCNA, AZ-900, or others. System environment requirements include : VMware, Android, Cisco, Microsoft desktop and server OS; Active Directory and Group Policy, Microsoft Office / Exchange, Office 365, Azure.

Supervisory Responsibilities : This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Valid driver's license required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
