Job Summary
The Pricing Specialist at Watco Logistics is responsible for driving sales growth and profitability by developing and implementing effective pricing strategies. This role is critical in analyzing customer data, marketing trends, and competitors' information to set prices while ensuring the company's financial objectives are being met. The Pricing Specialist for Wato Logistics will support the Colossal Transport Solutions team and collaborate with accounting and operations teams to maintain pricing models and to maximize revenue and profit margins.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure all communications with customers are addressed promptly and professionallyPrepare customer-specific pricing proposals and bidsPrioritize tasks to ensure all bids are completed accurately and sent within deadlinesDevelop, analyze, and implement strategies that align with company financial objectivesAnalyze freight rates, fuel costs, accessorial charges, and market conditions to support competitive pricing.Develop and maintain rate matrices, tariff structures, and lane-specific pricing modelsCollaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure pricing strategies are effectively executedMonitor carrier pricing trends and maintain relationships with carriers to secure competitive ratesCollaborate with operations to ensure pricing strategies align with service capabilitiesNegotiate pricing terms with clients and vendors to achieve favorable outcomesIdentify cost-saving opportunities and areas for margin improvementSupport contract negotiations by providing data-driven pricing recommendationsTrack and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure pricing effectivenessIdentify areas for process improvement in pricing practices and implement best practicesUpdate CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) with activities and generate reports as neededConduct ongoing customer needs analysis, and research of customer requirementsBenchmark company pricing against industry standards to identify gaps and opportunitiesParticipate in professional training activities to gain knowledge of industry trendsAssist with special projects, reporting, and other tasks assignedSource new revenue opportunities by researching key account contactsQualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required :
2+ years of experience in pricing, finance, logistics, or customer service experience preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply dataProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or pricing systems preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry is a plusEducation
High School Education or a GED is required
