Job Description : This position consists of complex clerical accounting work with fiscal responsibilities. Performs assigned accounting tasks in accounts payable and / or accounts receivable area.
Examples of Duties
Responsibilities :
- Perform pre-audit on checks and payments to check for signatures, account information, vendor information, date and time stamp.
- Review outstanding Accounts Receivable and communicate information effectively to manager and upper-level accounting staff.
- Check processing and review.
- Prepare reconciliations for numerous general ledger accounts monthly.
- Prepare daily deposits for checks and cash.
- Daily bank coding and statement review.
- Department review, communication and journal entries for revenues brought in by various departments.
- Maintenance of internal spreadsheets used for tracking.
- Maintaining organized files within Accounts Receivable.
- External agency communication with interlocal departments.
- Prepare cash receipts and / or journal entries for daily work.
- Promptly and effectively communicating with BOCC staff and outside vendors regarding payments received. Including but not limited to business-like activities, grant monies, and donations.
- Conduct cash book audits annually, consisting of receipt books and bank deposit books.
- Maintain subsidiary ledger for certain accounting records and reconcile to the general ledger.
- Other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Qualifications :
Associate Degree in finance related field and two years of accounting, bookkeeping, fiscal, purchasing or related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and / or experience.Supplemental Information
