Job descriptionConduct comprehensive driver orientation sessions for new hires, including policies, safety procedures, and compliance expectations Administer road tests to evaluate new drivers' skills and qualification for employment Monitor DOT inspections, violations, and roadside reports; identify trends and address issues proactively Investigate and manage driver fines, citations, and corrective action plans Coordinate and deliver driver safety training, including refresher courses, compliance updates, and incident-based coaching Work closely with operations, HR, and dispatch to support a culture of safety and accountability Assist with safety audits, accident investigations, and post-incident retraining when necessary 5 years of experience in a transportation safety, compliance, or driver training role Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with drivers of diverse backgrounds Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with compliance documentation Proficient in Microsoft Office and fleet management / compliance systems CDL (Class A)
Fleet Safety Specialist
Vanner Inc. (located in Morris, IL) is hiring a Fleet Safety Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant, and professional on the road. This individual will lead driver orientation, conduct road tests, track DOT inspections, manage driver training, and deal with driver-related fines and violations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong safety mindset and a passion for developing drivers.

- Based on experience, the salary for this position is $72k-$85k.
- $300 monthly contribution for health insurance premiums (Aetna plans).
