Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Utility Locate Lead to join our growing team!

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced locator to step into a leadership role supporting the day-to-day operations of our utility locating and leak detection services. As a Utility Locate Lead, you'll work hands-on in the field while mentoring and supporting technicians to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency across all projects.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support field technicians to complete locate requests safely, accurately, and within required timelines.
• Perform underground utility locates using electronic locating equipment and APWA color standards.
• Read and interpret utility maps and prints to identify underground facilities.
• Assist in training, mentoring, and developing new and existing team members.
• Coordinate with the Utility Supervisor and field staff to manage daily workload and priorities.
• Complete documentation for locates, crossings, and excavation projects accurately and on time.
• Participate in safety meetings, audits, and operational reviews.
• Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout all field activities.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and coworkers to ensure efficient operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and ensure equipment readiness for field projects.

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office / market location. The anticipated salary / hourly range for this position is $25-$29 / hr.
