Commercial Roof Inspector

What You’ll Do :

The Service Roof Inspector, is responsible for evaluating the condition of commercial roofing systems to help extend their lifespan. The role includes conducting inspections, taking detailed photographs, preparing condition reports, and offering recommendations for roof repairs and maintenance. The Service Roof Inspector ensures that roofs are properly assessed and documented, supporting the team in maintaining the safety and integrity of roofing systems.

Our projects range in scope from large-scale new construction to complete tear-offs, re-roofing and renovations of existing building exteriors, and on-going roof maintenance, inspection, and repairs of all major commercial roof systems .

Primary Responsibilities :

Roof Inspector, under the direct supervision of the Project Manager (or other manager listed), is responsible for performing onsite roof inspections and preparing necessary inspection reports, roof takeoffs and associated proposals for work identified.

Specific Job Duties :

• Set up and conduct site visits and field measurements of existing roof systems.
• Examine commercial roofs for deficiencies that could cause leaks, unusual wear and tears, damage from windblown debris, organic growth, and problems that may have resulted from material or installation defects.
• Conduct full roof takeoffs. This includes taking pictures, identifying safety hazards and possible mobilization areas, roof core cuts, accurate measurements, and an inventory of rooftop equipment.
• Document results of inspections and prepare comprehensive reports and repair proposals.
• Communicate effectively with customers, building tenants, field techs, estimators, and management team.
• Utilize database of completed projects and existing customers to market roof inspections and repair services.
• Understand how to use CRM software (ex. Salesforce and ADP) and pull information for reporting.
• Know and follow Nations Roof’s safety policy.
• Rent a vehicle, when required.
• Assists Project Managers in the preparation, review and administration of contractual proposals, contracts and purchase orders relating to construction projects.
• Works closely with the permit expeditors, project managers, design team and consultants to monitor and expedite the development process.
• Maintains relationships between the organization and outside consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Responsible for maintaining and updating the project management / development tracking tool.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and establish a productive working relationship with co-workers.
• Must be responsible for clocking in and out / recording time accurately and consistently on all days worked.
• Receives, organizes, and maintains all construction documents.
• Other duties as assigned.
