We are currently seeking an EEC certified Lead Preschool Teacher at our Gardner location. This individual will shape the classroom environment within agency guidelines by leading, coordinating, and making decisions to develop and maintain a quality early childhood program. This individual is part of the management team. Provide leadership to ensure programs and services are successfully delivered through teaching staff while building a team environment using participatory decision-making.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Possess a working knowledge of and adherence to EEC regulations.
- Manage and supervise teaching staff in the daily operations of the classroom.
- Know and maintain child / teacher ratios in compliance with EEC regulations.
- Write and deliver annual staff Performance Reviews.
- Conduct bimonthly staff observations.
- Maintain a creative, exciting, learning environment for children.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and / or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
- Plan and develop collaboratively, developmentally appropriate curriculum using agency guidelines
- Prepare screenings, assessments and individual conferences with parents / guardians.
- Report to the Center Director any special needs or problems of individual children and any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
- Complete Professional Development courses as required by EEC.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings once a month.
Qualifications :
Individual must be Lead Teacher qualified through EEC with an Associate's Degree; Bachelor's Degree preferred.At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience.Knowledge of children's physical, emotional, and developmental patterns and knowledge of learning theories and curriculum development.Demonstrate leadership skills.Ability to adapt and show flexibility as needed.Complete drug and alcohol screening as required by Guild of St. Agnes policy.Must complete a criminal background check (BRC) with acceptable results prior to start date.Must present evidence of a physical and (2) MMR tests with acceptable results prior to start date.Must complete First Aid / CPR Training within 6 months of employment.The Guild of St. Agnes offers an excellent benefits package including; health and disability insurances, a 401k with up to 10% employer contribution, up to 4 weeks of vacation after one year, and more.
