Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring a NJ or compact license and critical care pediatric experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting
  • Patient ratio averages 1 : 2 with 19 beds on the unit
  • May float to Pediatrics and NICU based on skill set and hospital needs
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (19 : 00 to 7 : 30), including every other weekend
  • Utilizes Medtronic pacemakers, telemonitoring, BIPAP / CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and trachs
  • Uses the EPIC electronic medical record system
  • Responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
  • Required to float within skillset to units such as Pediatrics and NICU as needed
  • Must be available to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays as assigned
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Comprehensive orientation includes EPIC and unit-specific training modules prior to start and annually
  • Candidates must not have worked full time or PRN at this health system within the past year to be eligible
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

  • Active NJ or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent PICU critical care experience required, with at least 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
  • Experience with Medtronic pacemakers and tele monitoring required
  • Demonstrated experience with BIPAP / CPAP, ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies required
  • Candidates must provide documented experience on a skills checklist
  • First time travelers will not be considered
