Entry Level Biotech Associate

• Description :
• A candidate for this role will support the a CRO working in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device fields
• NOTE : Position is expected to last 3 months
• NOTE : Position is in Hercules, CA
• Compensation : $30.00 - 35.00 per hour
• Responsibilities :
• Perform Intraperitoneal (IP) injection in rats and mice
• Ensure accurate dosing and proper restraint of animals to minimize stress and injury
• Monitor and record morbidity and mortality of laboratory animals (rats / mice)
• Document appropriate study records.
• Accurately document observations
• Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of GMP's / GLP's as these pertain to work performed in the microbiology lab
• Perform repetitive and technically meticulous small laboratory animal (mice / rat) research work (training will be provided).
• Requirements :
• Minimum requirement : BS degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related degree
• Able to handle multiple projects concurrently, self-motivated, and results driven
• Proficiency in Office 365 and other software preferred
• Able to communicate effectively
• Willingness to work with potentially hazardous biological and chemical substances.
• Must be able to work in close proximity to laboratory animals (including mice, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs). Must be tolerant of animal odors.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for extensive periods of time (up to 6 hours)
