Title : MRI Technologist
Location : Melbourne, FL
Duration : 13 weeks
Shift : Night shift – 4x10-hour shifts (10 : 00 PM – 8 : 00 AM)
Job Responsibilities :
Perform high-quality MRI examinations according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
Operate MRI scanners and related imaging systems (GE, PACS) for a range of exams including neuro, spine, musculoskeletal, chest, abdomen, and pelvis studies.
Prepare and administer contrast media safely and effectively.
Start peripheral IVs and monitor patients during scans.
Ensure patient comfort and safety while maintaining infection control and radiation safety standards.
Review imaging for quality and accuracy prior to submission for interpretation.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal imaging outcomes.
Manage imaging records and documentation through electronic systems (Epic, Allscripts SCM).
Required Skills and Experience :
Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience in a hospital setting.
Proficiency in operating GE MRI systems and PACS.
Experience performing MRI exams across multiple body regions :
Head and Neck : Brain, MRA / MRV, orbits, face / soft tissue neck.
Spine : Cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacrum / coccyx, spinal trauma.
Abdomen & Pelvis : Abdomen, MRCP, MRA / MRV, male / female pelvis.
Musculoskeletal : Shoulder, knee, hip, hand, foot, long bones.
Chest and Cardiovascular : MR Angio lower extremity, MR Aortogram.
Skilled in performing diffusion imaging, post-processing (ADC mapping, subtraction), and use of surface coils.
Capable of working in various settings such as adult / pediatric acute care, outpatient, ER, and trauma units.
Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required.
Epic EMR experience required.
Certifications (Required) :
ARRT (R) or ARMRIT
BLS (Basic Life Support)
Preferred Skills : \nAdvanced MRI post-processing techniques.\nExperience with pediatric and geriatric patient populations.\nFamiliarity with Allscripts SCM and hospital-based imaging workflows.\n\nAdditional Details : \nNo call required.\nWeekend coverage may vary based on scheduling needs.\n
