Lead Massage Therapist
The Lead Massage Therapist (Dual Licensed in Esthetics preferred) is responsible for ensuring the wellness technician team is trained to provide spa guests with the current protocols in massage, facial treatments and high-level guest service set forth, ensuring a luxury and relaxing spa experience. All duties are to be performed in accordance with Sunseeker Resort, state, departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.
Job Duties :
- Provide spa guests with a comfortable and relaxing spa experience while ensuring the utmost safety for our guests.
- Perform, train and audit current and new spa team on various massage, body treatments and facial protocols offered on the spa treatment menu and any additional added services.
- Work closely with Spa Assistant Manager on training and auditing spa team how to escort guests correctly and effectively to various treatment rooms in a timely manner.
- Ensure spa team caters to all spa guests using techniques customized to their unique needs.
- Ensure the treatment schedule is covered each day, find coverage as needed.
- Step in to cover shifts for call outs as needed.
- Motivate and coach team with daily stand ups, sharing information.
- Maintain equipment in treatment rooms and reports equipment that is broken, damaged and unsafe or that needs immediate repair to Spa Management.
- Be an expert in your field. Continue to learn and be on the forefront of new innovations in the spa industry.
- Identify when spa technicians need training and development.
- Ensure each technician is current with licensing and CEUs
- Be aware and in tune to when spa team needs coaching and counseling, reporting to Spa Assistant Manager.
- Complete monthly inventories of product and linen.
- Ensure team is using appropriate amount of product for each treatment, watching for overuse.
- Ensure team completes services promptly in the time allotted while maintaining professional and courteous behavior to all guests and employees.
- Oversee that team keeps treatment room areas and supplies clean and stocked.
- Follow all guidelines of the spa employee handbook.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resort performs criminal background checks on all candidates. Candidates will need to be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent500+ hours from accredited Massage and / or 1200 hours Cosmologist SchoolRequired current Florida & NCBTMB or MBLEx Massage / Esthetician license.Minimum of two (2) - five (5) years hands-on experience in massage and skincareMinimum of two (2) - four (4) years leadership experienceMinimum of two (2) - four (4) years experience in luxury resort, day spa or hotel environmentCompetencies & Working Conditions
