The Electric Power Systems Engineering Business Office is looking for a self-motivated and disciplined individual to join its team as an Earned Value Analyst Summer (June start) and Fall (early to mid-December end) Co-op. You would need to take the fall semester off. This role provides the candidate with a unique opportunity to work across multidisciplinary stakeholders such as Program Management, Engineering, and Finance.

While in this role, the ideal candidate will provide guidance and proactive analysis in the areas of Project Management, Budgeting, Scheduling, and Variance Analysis used in the execution multiple programs. The candidate will become an integral part of the team, providing analysis and recommendations utilizing Earned Value tools and methodology. This is onsite, in Rockford, IL. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do :

  • Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Finance and cross functional leads to support program execution
  • Support of all program financial aspects including monthly financial performance reporting.
  • Analyze / modify cost estimate and re-baseline programs as needed and when required.
  • Actively support monthly program Estimate-at-Complete (EAC) reviews and Monthly / Quarterly Program Review preparation activities.
  • Facilitate monthly data reconciliation and compile compliant Earned Value or project plan data approved by the program manager and provide to the external customer.

What You Will Learn :

  • Track, trend, forecast and analyze budgets and actuals.
  • Prepare and maintain program cost and resource projections.
  • Identify detailed program risks and opportunities.
  • Qualifications You Must Have :

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract.
  • Qualifications We Prefer :

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (i.e. Excel pivot tables, advanced formulas) and / or with SAP, Cobra, EV4P or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and high attention to detail and accuracy. Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of customers and organization.
  • Enjoy working with data, completing reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and a strong attention to detail.
