Key Job Details – NICU RN Travel Assignment Location : Charlottesville, VA 22908 (Virginia nursing jobs) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse, On-Site Start Date : November 24, 2025 End Date : February 23, 2026 Duration : 13-week contract Shifts : Night shifts, 12 hours (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), 36 or 48 hours / week Float Pool Units : PICU, NICU, Pediatric MedSurg, Pediatric ED boarders, Postpartum / Mother Baby, and occasional Labor & Delivery Schedule : Every other weekend required; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays Pre-approved Time Off : Up to 40 hours per contract Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $2130 - $2190 Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent PICU experience required; NICU and pediatric float pool experience highly preferred Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state (pending license accepted if in hand by Wednesday before start date) BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (pending certificate accepted) Epic electronic charting experience required Prior travel nursing experience required BSN preferred Ability to float to multiple pediatric units per facility policy NICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents in the NICU, PICU, and other pediatric units Attend high-risk deliveries, provide neonatal resuscitation and stabilization Care for pediatric patients with diverse diagnoses, including congenital anomalies, surgical needs, respiratory distress, and trauma Administer medications, manage ventilators, central lines, and advanced pediatric equipment Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and child life specialists Accurately document patient care and interventions using Epic EMR Float to Labor & Delivery and Mother / Baby units as needed Maintain infection control and patient safety standards at all times Experience the best of Virginia nursing jobs—make a difference in pediatric healthcare while enjoying all that Charlottesville has to offer.
