Reports to : Director of Employment Services & Kitchen Coordinator

Location : Momentum WORK, Inc. Santa Barbara – Mo’s To-Go Catering Kitchen

As a Kitchen Assistant , you’ll be a key ingredient in our recipe for success, helping power our Mo’s To-Go catering business and support our amazing program participants as they gain real-world culinary experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Assists in on-the-job training support to program participants.
• Complies with all Momentum WORK, Inc. program policies, CARF accreditation standards, TCRC, CAL / OSHA policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to communicate effectively with people served, job coaches, third-party vendors, and customers.
• Washing, peeling, and preparing food ingredients.
• Using equipment such as mixers, special knives, and cutters
• Reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed
• Unloading fresh supplies and organizing the stockroom
• Checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock
• Cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes, and pans
• Observing cooking times and correct temperatures
• Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed
