Job description

Job Summary:

The registered nurse (RN) performs under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and is delegated an assignment by the Director of Nursing to achieve quality Resident care. The RN shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with the Director of Nursing as evidenced by documentation in Resident's Care Record, direct observation, and Resident assessment. The RN shall have the ability to appropriately read and comprehend data collected which reflects the Resident's status and interprets the data needed to identify each Resident's level of need and care. RN arranges transportation for residents' appointments on a regular basis. RN draws all monthly and routine lab work. Performs other job duties as needed.

The RN is enrolled in the weekend work program and is knowledgeable of the expectations outlined in the weekend work agreement

Performance Expectations:

  • Supervises all LPNs and CNAs and ensure that care is provided appropriately and timely for all residents.
  • Ensures that dignity and privacy are maintained at all times in all aspects of care.
  • Proactive approach to ensuring that all labs are drawn monthly as ordered and lab/diagnostic results are applied to chart.
  • Understands policy and procedures and ensures that these are followed in all aspects of resident care.
  • Disciplines and maintains order in facility during absence of DON and/or Facility Administrator.
  • Proactive approach in working with doctors and other nurses to ensure residents needs and expectations are met.
Qualifications:

Education/Skills

Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.

Work Experience:

One year in long-term care nursing care-Preferred.

Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
  • Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
Additional Certification/Licensure - obtained based on the required timeframe below
  • Basic Life Support

Within 30 Days of Employment
