The Cardiothoracic Surgery Department offers virtually every type of cardiac surgery. With a focus on advanced technology, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience while helping facilitate the best patient experience possible. As an RN, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering top-quality care to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.

This is a full-time position. A caregiver in this role will work 9 : 00am to 7 : 30pm along with on-call requirements after orientation. Orientation is 6-months long, Monday through Friday from 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will :
Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.Perform scrub and circulating functions.Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red CrossOne year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency ProgramAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of hirePreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

Physical Requirements :
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.Exposure to communicable diseases and / or body fluids.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective Equipment :
