Job description

Program Manager

This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations, a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations. HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. With data fusion and mission management capabilities for the Department of Defense, the combatant commands and the intelligence community, HII advances the mission around the globe.

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a results-driven, part time, Program Manager to lead complex Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives across multiple contract vehicles. This high-impact role is ideal for a seasoned leader with deep experience in the design, fielding, and testing of hands-on and live training systems.

Key qualifications include :

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
  • Proven track record in Profit & Loss (P&L) management, or GS-15 / O6-level DoD acquisition leadershipor equivalent senior leadership in defense acquisition programs.
  • Expertise in growth strategy and building trust-based relationships across government and industry stakeholders.

What you will do :

  • Provide senior-level leadership to ensure achievement of performance and financial goals.
  • Ensure timely and adequate staffing for all programs.
  • Maintain close contact with customers to make necessary and timely program adjustments.
  • Collaborate with all functional departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and guide initiatives that enhance customer value.
  • Lead teams and programs while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Support and advise on growth strategy initiatives.
  • Identify potential customers, assess their requirements, and tailor strategies.
  • Provide insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with teaming partners and suppliers to strengthen bid team effectiveness.
  • Partner with senior leadership to share insights on market trends.
  • Communicate regular progress updates, status reports, and risk assessments.
  • Model HII's core values : integrity, safety, honesty, engagement, responsibility, and performance.
  • Promote HII program excellence initiatives.
  • Provide rigorous financial and performance oversight.
  • What we're looking for :

    8 years of relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 6 years with a Master's degree; or 12 years with a High School Diploma or equivalent. 8 years of relevant progressive experience leading programs or projects. Strong understanding of the federal contracting and acquisition process. Exceptional strategic thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience participating in proposal development and solutioning sessions. Strong leadership skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple initiatives concurrently. Willingness to travel as needed. Experience in training system development and fielding. Clearance : Must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance. Prior government, active-duty, or equivalent senior acquisition leadership experience; O6 / GS-15 equivalent preferred. DoD Acquisition Certification : DAWIA Level III in Program Management. PMP Certification.

    Preferred qualifications include :

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Graduate of Senior Service College or equivalent strategic leadership training.
  • Experience in DoD acquisition, technology development, systems integration, operations, and contracting.
  • Experience working with both large and small system manufacturers and integrators.
  • Experience supporting Army program offices focused on simulation, training, or instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with military training doctrine, operational requirements, and test / evaluation environments.
  • Knowledge of acquisition strategies and lifecycle management for simulation-based systems.
  • Experience managing live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) training programs.
  • Understanding of interoperability and integration challenges across defense training platforms.
