Part-Time Janitorial

Ivy Tech Community College Columbus is looking for an individual to join our team as a part time Maintenance and Custodial Technician. This part-time position plays a key role in maintaining the safety cleanliness and functionality of campus facilities equipment and grounds. The ideal candidate will handle a mix of custodial tasks preventive maintenance event setup and minor construction work while ensuring a welcoming and well-kept environment for students faculty and staff. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Clean and maintain designated campus areas including restrooms classrooms and common spaces on a scheduled part-time basis.
• Perform routine custodial duties such as emptying trash dusting mopping vacuuming and sanitizing surfaces.
• Conduct basic floor care including occasional buffing or spot cleaning.
• Operate basic custodial and maintenance equipment as needed.
• Complete assigned maintenance or custodial work orders efficiently and log updates in the work order system.
• Assist in seasonal tasks such as light landscaping snow removal or grounds maintenance depending on availability.
• Support setup for small events or office moves by relocating furniture and supplies.
• Perform minor repairs such as painting touch-ups light bulb replacements or fixture maintenance.
• Follow established safety procedures and participate in maintaining a clean hazard-free environment.
• May assist with light mechanical or electrical tasks under supervision depending on experience and skillset.

Customer Service :

Other duties consistent with the scope of the position may be assigned.

PAY RATE :

High school diploma preferred. Experience in the areas of electrical plumbing HVAC carpentry and motorized equipment preferred. Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations preferred. Previous experience in facilities cleaning and floor maintenance preferred.

Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
