Mechanic / Utility Operator - Department of Public Works

The City of Bloomfield Hills is currently seeking a Full Time Mechanic / Utility Operator with the Department of Public Works.

Pay Range : $51,975 - $61,200 – Dependent on Qualifications

Schedule is Monday - Friday from 7 : 30am - 3 : 30pm, with potential for overtime

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the DPW Foreman, this position :

• Perform repairs to City vehicles and equipment.
• Perform such manual tasks as patching streets, street sweeping, road grading, mowing grass, planting and maintaining landscaping, removing snow and ice from streets, repair and paint signs.
• Operate trucks, mowers, snowplows, snow blowers, backhoes and trimmers.
• Must comply with the Omnibus Transportation Act, requiring random drug and alcohol testing of CDL employees.
• Perform related duties as required or instructed.

Minimum Requirements

Preference given to certified mechanics in the areas of light duty trucks, passenger vehicles, heavy-duty equipment and trucks.
