Maintenance Technician II - Facility / Ice Rink

This role involves a blend of supervisory and hands-on duties to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of the Western Park Ice Rink & WP complex. This includes maintaining equipment logs, monitoring supplies, and notifying supervisors of inventory needs for materials, equipment, and chemicals. Also responsible for environmental upkeep, such as landscaping (planting, grooming, sprinkler systems, fertilization, pest control using ATVs with sprayers), and ensuring ice rink safety for patrons by inspecting the rink, skates, and other equipment.

High school diploma or GED required. Candidates should have specialized training in maintenance, construction, or facilities / construction management, plus four years of increasingly responsible experience in building maintenance, demonstrating proficiency in plumbing, electrical work, and painting. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

This role requires thorough knowledge of :

• Plumbing methods and practices
• OSHA and ADA regulations
• Facilities maintenance, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems
• Building construction, maintenance, and repair methods
• Construction and maintenance equipment and materials
• Safety hazards and precautions in municipal maintenance
• Safety and risk management principles
• Current building codes and standards

You must also be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
