Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons - 40 Hours - Days Eligible for Full-Time Benefits Shift : Days 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm. No weekends.

General Summary :

Works in a customer service capacity providing administrative and clerical support to patients and customers in a medical setting. Responsibilities include :

• Greeting patients and visitors, checking patients in and out, and obtaining necessary documentation.
• Verifying and entering demographic information.
• Obtaining and verifying insurance authorizations / precertification.
• Completing medical record release requests and scheduling / confirming patient appointments.
• Entering, reviewing and submitting charges for patient procedures and services daily.
• Collecting co-payments and reconciling all daily reports and deposits for accuracy.
• Providing general office and clerical support to assigned area.

Education / Experience Required :

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note : Required professional licensure / certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail. Ability to verify patient insurance coverage and demographics, prepare patient rooms, provide pertinent information including patient education as directed. Familiarity with medical office workflows preferred. Ability to function collaboratively in a team setting.
