Job Description
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
To review MRP planned orders and messages and maintain production orders to meet the factory plans created by the Master Scheduling Manager. To interface between the purchasing, inventory, production and planning personnel.
Duties & Responsibilities
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
- To create production orders in line with the factory Master production schedule ensuring that suggested start and finish dates are adhered to.
- To participate in shop floor reviews to ensure that the production requirements are clearly communicated.
- To pro-actively measure shop floor adherence to the production plan and communicate issues to key stakeholders.
- To propose and evaluate recovery plans when shop floor output falls behind the plan.
- To use best practice techniques to determine effective lot sizing for finished goods and sub-assemblies used in the assigned product group.
- To use best practice techniques to determine effective safety stock and re-order point levels and update accordingly.
- Review MRP data to ensure that open production orders are meeting the current plan. To make amendments and communicate changes to key stakeholders when there is an imbalance between supply and demand.
- To review material availability and communicate potential shortages to the purchasing team.
- To follow up on material shortages and advise key stakeholders the impact to production plan.
- To review finished goods and sub-assemblies inventory levels and ensure excess or shortage occurrences are minimized.
- To identify slow moving and obsolete stock and liaise with key stakeholders to reduce.
- To support shop floor reporting by managing production confirmations and carry out daily transacting of production output.
- To manage customer demand and update promise dates in SAP in conjunction with the OTI team and provide order delivery status to the sales organization.
- To participate in programs and projects such as Continuous Improvement, Kaizen etc.
- To develop WIP reports and verify inventory counts with production.
- Ensure lead times on manufactured parts reflect the true manufacturing cycle time.
- Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
- Comply with all applicable S. export control and security regulations.
- Other duties as required.

The Individual
POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
Experience : 2-5 years related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge / Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills. Advanced computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook. Experience in an MRP system environment (APICS and / or ISM are a plus).
Inventory management skills including cost savings, inventory reduction, and obsolescence avoidance. Good organizational skills.
Working Knowledge of SAP specifically MM & PP functions is preferred.
