Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Estimated Weekly Pay : $2160 - $2210 Location : Burlington, VT (05401) - Vermont nursing jobs Assignment Length : 16 weeks (potential extension up to 32 weeks) Start Date : November 17, 2025 Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (16 : 00 - 04 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Unit : Miller 3 - Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 32 beds Patient Population : Adults and geriatrics Holiday Coverage : Must be willing to work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day) Setting : Cardiac Progressive Care Stepdown / Telemetry / Surgical Focus Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license eligible for Vermont - Vermont RN license required Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or progressive care Previous travel RN experience required (no first-time travelers) Recent experience in a large Level 1 trauma center (within the last year) Cardiothoracic and vascular nursing experience required Post-op Day 1 open / closed heart (CABG) experience required Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (mandatory) Certifications : AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (PCCN preferred) COVID-19 vaccine required (no exemptions) Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered) Reliable personal or rental transportation required (public transit not accessible) Vehicles must have all-season or snow tires November-April Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients, including pre- and post-op cardiothoracic, vascular, and urology surgery patients Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry and continuous O2 saturation monitoring Administer and manage cardiac drips, heparin protocols, insulin drips, and wound care (including wound vacs) Interpret dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies Float to similar nursing units as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, etc.) Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development Work every weekend as scheduled and provide coverage for major holidays as required Ready to take the next step in your travel nursing career?
