Civil Estimator (Melville)

Haugland Group, a privately-owned Long Island, New York-based civil infrastructure and energy construction company has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team.

Haugland Group has an immediate need for an experienced Civil Estimator. The Civil estimator candidates must have experience with heavy civil estimating and construction (utilities a plus) and be able to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, takeoffs, crew compositions and productions.

Key Functions

• Coordinate and strategize with ownership to identify prospective projects to be added to the bid log.
• Prepare cost estimates for projects in alignment with the company business model, its strategic goals and industry standards.
• Analyze bid documents to determine the scope of work and prepare the bid in compliance with Owners' requirements.
• Set up labor crews, equipment, and productions appropriate to the scope of work involved.
• Attend pre-qualification events and site visits as required.
• Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
• Thoroughly review all department estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
• Work with project management teams throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction functions and change orders.
