The role involves providing direct patient care activities for all age groups. It includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. The nurse will monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to enhance patient comfort. The RN will function within the scope of nursing preparation and in accordance with established nursing practice guidelines. Maintaining professional accountability for patient care is essential. The RN must evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care in conjunction with other departments is required. The nurse will uphold patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Physical demands include significant standing, walking, bending, and lifting with assistance.
