VP, CFAO Strategy & Technology

And we do it all with heart, each and every day. As VP, CFAO Strategy & Technology, you will be responsible for key support functions for CVS Health's PBM pricing activities. This leadership role is accountable for executing pricing strategy, proposals, pharmacy data and financial forecasting, and underwriting systems and processes. This position requires exceptional leadership and motivational skills to support the Underwriting and client profit VPs for each market segment along with other leaders across the organization. Primary responsibilities for this role include setting strategic goals, improving organizational effectiveness and delivering market leading insights and tools to the CFAP organization. Additionally, this position will :
- Oversee PBM pricing intelligence and strategy. This includes the collection, organization and synthesizing of pricing intelligence and feedback received in the marketplace.
- This role is responsible for managing the long term pricing strategy roadmap for CVS Caremark, partnering with various areas of the organization, such as underwriting, product, trade and networks, to drive PBM pricing innovation and inform the organization's go-to-market pricing strategies.
- Be responsible for the PBM underwriting ecosystem. Key responsibilities include maintaining model assumptions, successfully driving forward our underwriting technology roadmap, managing the project backlog and system maintenance while delivering a cutting-edge technology platform and user interface. This leader will be responsible for managing our strategic investments and delivering exceptional ROI while meeting our business objectives.
- Manage all underwriting assumptions contained in the underwriting ecosystem and coordinate assumptions across the PBM organization including finance, supply chain and other key areas.
- Foster strong links to the PBM finance team regarding systems integrations, forecasting assumptions, client profitability efforts, and financial governance of underwriting activities.
- Lead discussions, that are highly complex financially. This role requires expert knowledge of external pricing models and analytic tools which drive client satisfaction improvements, Caremark's profitability, and client savings.
- Play a critical role in setting strategy and creating a pricing governance structure to ensure financial objectives and process excellence are both met while meeting challenging deadlines and expectations driven by the marketplace.
- Be responsible for the CVS Caremark proposals department, a critical function within the PBM RFP process to ensure CVS Caremark successfully answers questions for existing or potential customers while delivering CVS Caremark's messaging on market differentiation.
- Provide domain expertise across the full spectrum of financially-related efforts aimed at retaining clients and growing the revenue and profitability of clients, including leading client renewals, conducting market check pricing, and identifying and communicating opportunities to increase revenue and profit margins across areas such as plan design, channel, clinical, and other solutions.
- Maintain overall accountability for implementing and overseeing processes to ensure accurate financial modeling with projections for client and internal outcome.
- Exercise sound business judgment to achieve proper balance between client wins and CVS Caremark profitability. They must identify areas of potential risk and implement process improvements to mitigate risk, drive efficiencies with the tools and applications deployed to key finance and underwriting personnel.

Required Qualifications
Minimum of 12 years professional experience, preferably within a PBM or health planPrevious PBM Pricing, Underwriting or financial analysis experienceExperience working with health plans, employer clients, or coalitions / TPAs, with multiple lines of business with different funding arrangementsStrong understanding of or experience with external facing pricing and analytics teams.Demonstrated success presenting to senior executive level individualsDemonstrated ability to innovate, develop, and implement new products or solutions requiring collaboration with internal partnersProven ability to driving process excellence and deliver tools / solutions that enhance financial outcomes or process and resource efficiencies.Demonstrated experience building high performing teams with robust performance development and thriving team cultureAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines with appropriate level of delegation to team members.Demonstrated success developing effective relationships with key internal partners across the enterprise, including executive-level decision makers.Ability to manage cost centers and departmental expenses according to budget.Ability to promote team diversity both in terms of demographics and ideas.Education :
