At Livewell Animal Hospital Shaw, we are a passionate, patient-focused team committed to delivering top-tier veterinary care to pets and their families. Now, we're looking for a Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative and compassionate team!

Position Summary

As a Veterinary Assistant, youll support our doctors and credentialed veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality medical care. Whether you're preparing patients for exams, assisting in surgery, or comforting a nervous pet parent, you'll play an essential role in the daily operations of our hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, diagnostics, and treatments
  • Prepare patients and surgical areas for procedures
  • Safely restrain animals during exams and treatments
  • Collect and prepare lab samples (fecal, urine, cytologies)
  • Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and surgical tools
  • Provide clear communication and compassionate care to clients and patients

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant or similar role is a plus
  • Passion for animal health and wellness
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills
  • Team player attitude and willingness to learn
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
